How to Connect Telegram

Step-by-step guide to connect Telegram to AI. Let your AI assistant read chats, send messages, react, and manage Telegram conversations automatically.

Why Connect Telegram to AI?

Telegram is one of the most versatile messaging platforms around -- group chats, channels, bots, voice messages, and more. But keeping up with dozens of Telegram conversations takes time you could spend elsewhere.

When you connect Telegram to SuperSocial MCP, your AI assistant gains direct access to your Telegram chats. It can read new messages, send replies, search contacts, react to messages, and handle attachments -- all through natural language. No Telegram bot tokens, no custom API code, no complicated setup. Just connect your account and start talking to your AI.

What You Need

  • A Telegram account (personal or business)
  • A SuperSocial account -- sign up free if you don't have one
  • An MCP-compatible AI client such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Gemini CLI

Step 1: Log Into SuperSocial

Head to app.getsupersocial.me/login and sign in with your email. If you're new, registration takes about 30 seconds. The free trial gives you 24 hours with one connected account -- plenty of time to test Telegram AI messaging end to end.

Step 2: Add Your Telegram Account

  1. From the Dashboard, click Add Account.
  2. Choose Telegram from the list of available platforms.
  3. A Telegram login prompt will appear. Sign in with your Telegram credentials (phone number and verification code).
  4. Once authenticated, your Telegram account will appear on the dashboard as connected.

That's it. No API keys, no bot setup, no server configuration. SuperSocial handles the connection layer so your AI assistant can talk to Telegram directly.

Step 3: Connect Your AI Client

With your Telegram account linked, the next step is connecting SuperSocial to your AI client. SuperSocial uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which means any MCP-compatible client can use your Telegram connection out of the box.

What Your AI Can Do With Telegram

Once connected, your AI assistant has access to a set of MCP tools for Telegram. Here's what each one does:

List Chats

The list_chats tool retrieves all your Telegram conversations -- individual chats, group chats, and channels. Your AI can scan your inbox, find specific conversations, or give you a summary of recent activity across all your Telegram chats.

Read Conversations

With get_conversation, your AI reads the full message history of any Telegram chat. Ask it to summarize a group discussion, find a specific message, or catch you up on what you missed overnight.

Send Messages

The send_message tool lets your AI compose and send Telegram messages on your behalf. Reply to individual chats, post in group conversations, or send messages to channels. You stay in control -- tell your AI what to say, and it handles the delivery.

React to Messages

Use react_to_message to add reactions to any Telegram message. Your AI can acknowledge messages, express agreement, or respond with any supported Telegram reaction.

Search Contacts

The search_contacts tool helps your AI find specific people or groups in your Telegram contact list. Useful when you want to message someone but aren't sure of the exact chat name.

Supported Telegram Features

SuperSocial's Telegram integration covers the features that matter for day-to-day messaging:

  • Individual chats -- one-on-one conversations with any Telegram contact
  • Group chats -- read from and send messages to group conversations
  • Channels -- access and manage your Telegram channel messages
  • Voice messages -- send and receive voice messages through your AI
  • Attachments -- handle files, images, and documents in your conversations
  • Reactions -- add emoji reactions to any message in a chat

Example Use Cases

Here are a few practical ways people use Telegram AI messaging with SuperSocial:

  • Morning briefing: "Summarize all my unread Telegram messages from the last 12 hours."
  • Group management: "Check the project group chat and list any action items mentioned today."
  • Quick replies: "Reply to Alex in Telegram saying I'll be 10 minutes late."
  • Cross-platform: "Find the message from Sarah on Telegram about the invoice and forward the details to her email."
  • Contact lookup: "Search my Telegram contacts for anyone from Acme Corp."

Telegram automation works best when combined with other connected platforms. Link your LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and email accounts to give your AI a complete view of all your messaging in one place.

Troubleshooting

Telegram login not working?

Make sure you're entering the correct phone number associated with your Telegram account. Telegram will send a verification code via the Telegram app itself (not SMS) if you have the app installed. Check your Telegram app for the code.

Chats not showing up?

After connecting, it may take a moment for SuperSocial to sync your Telegram data. If chats still don't appear after a minute, try disconnecting and reconnecting the account from the dashboard.
